Lesson For Today

An e-mail  from boss this morning...enjoy reading.

Nine Things Successful People Do Differently

1. Get specific

When you set yourself a goal, try to be as specific as possible. "Lose 5 pounds" is a better goal than "lose some weight," because it gives you a clear idea of what success looks like. Knowing exactly what you want to achieve keeps you motivated until you get there. Also, think about the specific actions that need to be taken to reach your goal. Just promising you'll "eat less" or "sleep more" is too vague — be clear and precise. "I'll be in bed by 10pm on weeknights" leaves no room for doubt about what you need to do, and whether or not you've actually done it.

2. Seize the moment to act on your goals.

Given how busy most of us are, and how many goals we are juggling at once, it's not surprising that we routinely miss opportunities to act on a goal because we simply fail to notice them. Did you really have no time to work out today? No chance at any point to return that phone call? Achieving your goal means grabbing hold of these opportunities before they slip through your fingers.
To seize the moment, decide when and where you will take each action you want to take, in advance. Again, be as specific as possible (e.g., "If it's Monday, Wednesday, or Friday, I'll work out for 30 minutes before work.") Studies show that this kind of planning will help your brain to detect and seize the opportunity when it arises, increasing your chances of success by roughly 300%.

3. Know exactly how far you have left to go.

Achieving any goal also requires honest and regular monitoring of your progress — if not by others, then by you yourself. If you don't know how well you are doing, you can't adjust your behavior or your strategies accordingly. Check your progress frequently — weekly, or even daily, depending on the goal.

4. Be a realistic optimist.

When you are setting a goal, by all means engage in lots of positive thinking about how likely you are to achieve it. Believing in your ability to succeed is enormously helpful for creating and sustaining your motivation. But whatever you do, don't underestimate how difficult it will be to reach your goal. Most goals worth achieving require time, planning, effort, and persistence. Studies show that thinking things will come to you easily and effortlessly leaves you ill-prepared for the journey ahead, and significantly increases the odds of failure.

5. Focus on getting better, rather than being good.

Believing you have the ability to reach your goals is important, but so is believing you can get the ability. Many of us believe that our intelligence, our personality, and our physical aptitudes are fixed — that no matter what we do, we won't improve. As a result, we focus on goals that are all about proving ourselves, rather than developing and acquiring new skills.
Fortunately, decades of research suggest that the belief in fixed ability is completely wrong — abilities of all kinds are profoundly malleable. Embracing the fact that you can change will allow you to make better choices, and reach your fullest potential. People whose goals are about getting better, rather than being good, take difficulty in stride, and appreciate the journey as much as the destination.

6. Have grit.

Grit is a willingness to commit to long-term goals, and to persist in the face of difficulty. Studies show that gritty people obtain more education in their lifetime, and earn higher college GPAs. Grit predicts which cadets will stick out their first grueling year at West Point. In fact, grit even predicts which round contestants will make it to at the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
The good news is, if you aren't particularly gritty now, there is something you can do about it. People who lack grit more often than not believe that they just don't have the innate abilities successful people have. If that describes your own thinking .... well, there's no way to put this nicely: you are wrong. As I mentioned earlier, effort, planning, persistence, and good strategies are what it really takes to succeed. Embracing this knowledge will not only help you see yourself and your goals more accurately, but also do wonders for your grit.

7. Build your willpower muscle.

Your self-control "muscle" is just like the other muscles in your body — when it doesn't get much exercise, it becomes weaker over time. But when you give it regular workouts by putting it to good use, it will grow stronger and stronger, and better able to help you successfully reach your goals.
To build willpower, take on a challenge that requires you to do something you'd honestly rather not do. Give up high-fat snacks, do 100 sit-ups a day, stand up straight when you catch yourself slouching, try to learn a new skill. When you find yourself wanting to give in, give up, or just not bother — don't. Start with just one activity, and make a plan for how you will deal with troubles when they occur ("If I have a craving for a snack, I will eat one piece of fresh or three pieces of dried fruit.") It will be hard in the beginning, but it will get easier, and that's the whole point. As your strength grows, you can take on more challenges and step-up your self-control workout.

8. Don't tempt fate.

No matter how strong your willpower muscle becomes, it's important to always respect the fact that it is limited, and if you overtax it you will temporarily run out of steam. Don't try to take on two challenging tasks at once, if you can help it (like quitting smoking and dieting at the same time). And don't put yourself in harm's way — many people are overly-confident in their ability to resist temptation, and as a result they put themselves in situations where temptations abound. Successful people know not to make reaching a goal harder than it already is.

9. Focus on what you will do, not what you won't do.

Do you want to successfully lose weight, quit smoking, or put a lid on your bad temper? Then plan how you will replace bad habits with good ones, rather than focusing only on the bad habits themselves. Research on thought suppression (e.g., "Don't think about white bears!") has shown that trying to avoid a thought makes it even more active in your mind. The same holds true when it comes to behavior — by trying not to engage in a bad habit, our habits get strengthened rather than broken.
If you want change your ways, ask yourself, What will I do instead? For example, if you are trying to gain control of your temper and stop flying off the handle, you might make a plan like "If I am starting to feel angry, then I will take three deep breaths to calm down." By using deep breathing as a replacement for giving in to your anger, your bad habit will get worn away over time until it disappears completely.

Keep a gratitude journal. Challenge yourself to write down five new things every day that you're grateful for. It'll be easy in the beginning, but soon you'll discover that you have to increase your awareness to keep on.

Try to focus on the positive, instead. Be thankful for what you have. And remember that if someone is going to hurt you, there's nothing you can do to stop it anyway. No amount of nagging, monitoring, accusation, snooping, or guarding will prevent you from being hurt. If you believe in someone, believe in them completely; give them all your trust. The benefit of the doubt is essential for any relationship to work. - WikiHow.

How To Deal With Negative, Difficult Person.

" I think the scariest person in the world is the person with no sense of humor. So that's a test. If you have doubts about someone, lay on a couple of jokes. if he doesn't find anything funny, your radar should be screaming. Then I would say be patient with people who are negative, because they're really having a hard time."

- Michael J.Fox.

Kind of

The world is bad enough without people trying to make someone elses life a living hell. Just be nice people. No matter what you said to justify your reason behind being what you call tough or straight forward, I am never going to buy it. So stop trying to convince me.

Next time, think before you say something so it won't come out wrong. For just one time, try hard to be nice. Leave every person you meet better than you found them. You have no idea what they may have gone through.

How Much Does Your Life Weigh?

I watched this movie ' Up In The Air' starring George Clooney while I was having dinner.

I am not really good at movie review or any kind of review for that matter and I don't remember either when was the last time I had my descriptive and summary writing. I believe it was around 90s. Yeah. That long.

But I'll try my best this time. Firstly of course I really think it's a good movie and there's a lot you get from it. Things that makes you think and ponder about. Especially when it hits home. Just made me remember how last year has been a real sucker to me and I believe it's the same with everyone. The down sizing, the pay cut and all those shit.

Apart from that, there's also the bit about the 'empty back pack' thing. Love the idea and philosophy behind it. Makes me want to think of my own back pack and how much it weigh and if it has slowed me down or stopped me from moving. Motivational thing usually work best to me on moving visual rather than words on papers. I am what you call the visual combined with auditory types of person.

I know so far that this has not been a very good review but more like a personal reflection. I guess you just have to watch it yourself and then you can tell me what do you think about it and instead of a single review we can do something like a short stories and do forum based on what we think. Or maybe not.

So let me ask you this.

What's in your back pack?

What Not

There's a lot of common foundation in a relationship that we always have to look into so that we can be certain of a positive growth with our partner but right now i can only comes up with these two things. Just my two cents on Friday evening.

Acceptance & Forgiveness

It's not about 'it's your fault', but 'I'm sorry'. Not 'where are you', but 'I'm right here'. Not 'how could you', but 'i understand'. Not 'i wish you were', but 'I'm thankful you are'.

In any relationship, you should always keep in mind to balance whatever things going on between you and your partner.

If your other half did something bad and genuinely says that he/she's sorry after that. Forgive him/her. Everyone make mistakes. At that time, it may be his/her wrong judgment, but be sure that you'll have your turn too in the future. Nobody's perfect. A fight or any mistake should be deal with mutual understanding on both party. It's funny how we can say that friendship or job's mistake can makes us stronger and good but when it comes to love, it's merely the other person's fault and that you were hurt.

There are times when even if you think that your partner maybe the sole cause of a fight or a mistake, be with him/her and bear the blame together. Help to ease the guilt they are feeling inside. In one way or another, i always believe that it's never a one person mistakes but it happens because both of you are allowing it to. Take your share on the problem. Pointing fingers should never be done and the last thing you want is to take revenge and in returns makes your partner feels just how much it hurt you or just how bad he/she was. Trust me, he/she will feel resentment towards you in future.

Sharing & Understanding

We decide to be in a relationship because we want someone other than ourselves. We were alone before that so basically we did all the things alone. We are capable of doing that.

So when it comes to an opinion, he/she should not be telling you that you have to get up on your ass and deal with everything on your own. To be in control or something more classic - to get hold of your own happiness. To be in a relationship is to share. To rely on each other shoulder if things get tough. If all you can tell your partner is go and be independent, then why in the hell did you agree to be with her/him in the relationship at the first place? I don't mean that you have to be totally dependent on your partner because that's a big no for me but at least when the problem is beyond him/her control physically or emotionally, you should be there. And when she/he actually comes up and meekly say that she/he doesn't know what to do, the last thing you should ever say is to ask back - what do we do now? If she/he knows that, she/he would not be asking you at the first place. If you don't know what to say, make up of something good to say..or just listen and hug him/her to let them know that everything will be alright. Even if it's not.

I'm not an expert but i was just sharing what i think are the right thing at least for me to do in every similar situation. Talk is cheap i know, but at least you try. Sometimes silence is even more damaging than saying it out loud. It's all a matter of a good timing.

As for my own relationship now... :) i'll keep that private but if you need to know, then i'll tell you this, i'm perfectly happy and that every difficulties are just a test of what we learn from each other and to see if we really understand it. It's just like learning things in school really. The relationship is the school. And those two person in it are both the teacher and the student taking turns... it's a give and take.

That's all i can think of right now... I'll jot in a more complete ending and substance when i have proper ideas in my head. So for now, that's it. [he he he]

The Sweets & The Marbles

Just another one of those forwarded email story. :)

A boy and a girl were playing together. The boy had a collection of marbles. The girl had some sweets with her. The boy told the girl that he will give her all his marbles in exchange for her sweets. The girl agreed.

The boy kept the biggest and the most beautiful marble aside and gave the rest to the girl. The girl gave him all her sweets as she had promised. That night, the girl slept peacefully.. But the boy could not sleep as he kept wondering if the girl had hidden some sweets from him the way he had hidden his best marble.

Moral of the story: If you don't give hundred percent in a relationship, you'll always keep doubting if the other person has given his/her hundred percent. Give your hundred percent to everything you do and sleep peacefully... ;)

Powder Blue

Everyone deserve a second chance. It may come to us in a different way, all is up to us whether to realize it and act on it or not. Sometimes our hardship & sorrow cloud what's been offered to us & we decided to give up. Don't.

I have always love talks, books, songs & movies about challenges in our life & inspirational stories. The things that can motivate us to keep going is actually just a little reminder every now & then.

Among all the movies that i have watch, one of my favorite motivational stories which i can vividly remember until now would be the 'Pay It Forward' which i watch about 3 years ago. Today at the office, i saw one movie in my colleague's folder in title 'Powder Blue' & out of curiosity of the unusual title, i downloaded it. Now i have just finish watching it and i must say, i can jot it down in my favorite lists.

As in one of the caption of that movie 'Every Life Has A Breaking Point'. I hope i find mine.

On a lighter note though, one cannot miss the scene everybody loves in any movie. The nude scene. ;) But it's not the less clothing that really gets me (although Jessica Biel is one very hot-sexy b**h :D) but really on Jessica's dancing at the stripper stage especially the pole dance. Owh i love the sliding-up-side-down pole dance. My mouth was wide open half through it. I never knew she could move like that. ;)

So...all in all, i say go watch this movie & have a good time.
Nite peeps. :)

I'll be back..

A self-important college freshman walking along the beach took it upon himself to explain to a senior citizen resting on the steps why it was impossible for the older generation to understand his generation.

"You grew up in a different world, actually an almost primitive one" the student said loud enough for others to hear.

"The young people of today grew up with television, jet planes, space travel, man walking on the moon. We have nuclear energy, ships and cell phones, computers with light speed...and many more."

After a brief silence, the senior citizen responded as follows.

"You're right son. We didn't have those things when we were young...so we invented them. Now, you arrogant little shit, what are you doing for the next generation?

The applause was amazing!

p/s been wanting to update more on many topics for quite some time but excuses always get in a way. I'll leave you with this great story for now & be sure to take a peek here some time soon...

When All Is Said & Done

Here's to us, one more toast and then we'll pay the bill,
Deep inside, both of us can feel the autumn chill,
Birds of passage, you and me, we fly instinctively,
When the summer's over and the dark clouds hide the sun,
Neither you nor I'm to blame when all is said and done.

It's been there in my dreams, this scene I see unfold,
True at last, flesh and blood, to cherish and to hold,
Careless fools will suffer, yes, I know and I confess,
Once I lost my way when something good had just begun,
Lesson learned, it's history when all is said and done.

In our lives we have walked some strange and lonely treks,
Slightly worn but dignified and not too old for sex,
Clear-headed and open-eyed with nothing left untried,
Standing calmly at the crossroads, no desire to run,
There's no hurry any more when all is said and done.

Standing calmly at the crossroads, no desire to run,
There's no hurry any more when all is said and done.

http://www.downloads.nl/results/mp3/1/When+All+Is+Said+And+Done+-+Pierce+Brosnan+Meryl+Streep

When All Is Said & Done originally by ABBA covered by Pierce Brosnan & Meryl Streep in the MAMMA MIA musical play - one of my fav movie of all time. :)

The arrangement done for this song in the movie is really beautiful & the lyric is just meaningfully great. It would be wonderful to have reach this stage of life - there's no hurry anymore when all is said & done. :)

But i'm still young & i'll make sure to enjoy every minute of everyday that i have so that i can someday look at the path i've taken & indulge in the satisfaction of living a full life. We all have to remember that we're not 19, 25 or 40 forever. When you are 10 years old, do what 10 years old suppose to be doing. Run loose & don't be all grown up yet. The same when you're in the twenties [especially if you're still single..wink2] - use that hard earned money of yours & go sky diving. At least your body can still handle it & recover quickly than a 30 year old.

In a relationship, never be afraid of being vulnerable because if you're building walls around you to not getting hurt, you're also shielding yourself from being happy. Be in a state where you feel like there's nothing in life that you can't face anymore. And to do that is to open yourself to possibilities, risk & the unknown (i'm not a professional motivational speaker). ;)

As the famous quote says, "Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance."

God, if I can't have what I want, let me want what I have. Amen.

You think i still care for a title now?

I'm so sick with the same old song that's been sung out for the past 6 years that i feel like killing people just for the fun of it.

My chest hurt so much i want to puke. I'm so frustrated i want to yell & get mad like a crazy bitch. Do any of you have any idea just how fucking hard it is to keep things to yourself & feeling helpless?

If i were there, i seriously think of slapping the sense out of her. She should be grateful i have not rule out the possibility of hating her forever. Because unlike some people, i think hatred only kill your inner self & left you to rot with bitterness in the end. But the way things are going on for so long till now, i may actually heading towards the pit of irreparable craziness & loathing.

Even falling in love with someone & listening to your favorite songs does not matter anymore. Who give you the right to feel so right when someone else is suffering anyway. When you think that no one can fault you for trying to live your life, think for a second of how long it will last before the dark clouds finally catching up.

If there's any evil out there wanting my soul in return for all this to stop, I will gladly sign the deal.

The Golden Rule

"What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbour." (Judaism) [Talmud, Shabbat 3id]

"All things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them." (Christianity) [Matthew 7:12]

"No one of you is a believer until he desires for his brother that which he desires for himself." (Islam) [Sunnah]

"Do not do to others what you would not like yourself." (Confucianism) [Analects 12:2]

"Regard your neighbour's gain as your gain, and your neighbour's loss as your own loss." (Taoism) [Tai Shang Kan Yin P'ien]

"Hurt not others in ways that you yourself would find hurtful." (Buddhism) [Udana-Varga 5:1]

"Seeing oneself in all and all in oneself, one does not injure others because that means injury to oneself." [from Nikhilananda Essence of Hinduism quoting Bhagavadgita]

Different sources but combine in the same ethical principle: the way in which we ourselves wish to be treated should be our guide as to how we treat others. The religious view of the question of good and evil is merely another reason for doing good, and definitely not an argument for the reverse.

Wisdom

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by each experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, “I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.”

You must do the thing you think you cannot do. Develop interest in life as you see it; in people, things, literature, music -- the world is so rich, simply throbbing with rich treasures, beautiful souls and interesting people.

Remember, happiness does not depend upon who you are or what you have, it depend solely upon what you think. Many people think that if they were only in some other place, or had some other job, they would be happy. Well, that is doubtful. So get as much happiness out of what you are doing as you can and don't put off being happy until some future date.

We've got this gift of love, but love is like a precious plant. You can't just accept it and leave it in the cupboard or just think it's going to get on by itself. You've got to keep watering it. You've got to really look after it and nurture it. Do not think that love in order to be genuine has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired. Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.

Happiness will never come to those who fail to appreciate what they already have.

List of great quote from extraordinary people in which i put & write in my note book & go through once in a while for me to always remember the influence & good thing a mere words can do to my life.

Check & Balance

I personally like this particular article very much.

http://mt.m2day.org/2008/content/view/15277/84/

If there's a crisis we are facing, the easiest & smartest way to solve it is to list down all the problems in priority order & u can actually look at it much more clearly & then you will know what to do so that you can at least tackle half of it.

Why do i seems to have so much passion for politic & rights when most of us must be thinking that it actually has nothing to do with them?

Simple explanation.
I can't sit & do nothing and I can't also pretend i don't care when i know something can actually be put straight.

And it also not entirely politic that make me keep on track. Politic only brings frustration & unneeded bewilderment. But the fact that it also brings out many great men/women & not to mention informative articles & mind blowing opinions, makes politic worth peeking on.

The only problem is that sometimes it's feels like it's beyond our control so that's why i think most people just don't want to bother about it.

I'm not exactly going to talk about politic in this entry. What i really want to stress on is that it just cross my mind a second after reading the above article (refer to link), that somehow all the things that i have been worrying can actually be solve if the most important issues & problem back in my homeland can be prioritize in a correct order & also if there is someone who actually can & want (not to mention capable) to do something about it.

Let me try to list out all the main problems we Sabahan face in our land.

1. Violation of the 20 Point Agreement
2. Lack of Competent Leaders
3. Corruption
4. Terrible rate of poverty
5. Poor education system
6. Attitude

I know there are more but then let me only take these 6 points here.
If we follow like how on the article did, solving item 1 can ensure our rights on control over our own land by our own people.

The rights to control over;-
1. Immigration - so the issue of the overly populated illegal immigrants will not be as bad as now because then the federal government should not be able to veto the entry of persons into Sabah and manipulated its purpose solely for political interest.

2. Tariffs and finance - so that our money from our rich reserves can be used back for our own development. We are to share so unfairly among the other state & left us with not even a handful of grasp.

3. Education - so that the budget for education is not controlled by the federal government.

4. Representation in Parliament - so that our voice & woes can actually be heard & that Malaysia can start to think equally of us as a fellow Malaysian & not just some forgotten-not-important part of the country.

5. Land, forests, local government, etc;- so that the federal can not nationalize our oil and gas resources. Why choose to give the state only a 5 percent royalty? Several requests for an increase in royalty to 20 percent were unheeded.

There are 15 other point left to be discuss but just these 5 points are enough to see just how vital the 20 points agreement is. There are many who will challenge this especially those from west M'sia who find that taking out their passport to the officer at the KK airport is irritating & seems unfair as we from Borneo can just go in and out to their side of land with no such hustle...but see how this violation makes us sabahan? Tun Abdul Rahman the 1st prime minister promise to take care of us Sabah & Sarawak so that we can move foward and be developed equally as in Peninsular. Does the promises fullfilled? We don't ask that long of the agreement to take place...just enough till all is taken care of. After that, it can be revise which suited best interest. But now...we are still the poorest state despite our abundance natural resources & there are still no mutual sense of belonging to the country regardless of the fact that Malaysia is formed in 16 September 1963 & not 31 August 1957 & just see how blatantly those people opposed an appreciation for the day which means public holiday for all.

Can't you see how items 4, 5 & 6 can take care of themselves if we solve item 1 first. And if item 2 can be look into, that should tackle item 3 effectively.

I do not want to start on us Sabahan to start producing intelligent minds & capable youth as i'm neither one nor the other.

The concern here to me is...if all above can actually be done...then i can stop worrying so much of the state of my family well-being especially in case of money where it matter most in this recent economic slowdown. And also it can help to create awareness among my cousins & relatives that education is important so that even if it makes individual difficult to drive, it makes them easy to lead & govern - put fresh idea in their mind, and at least it will be impossible for them to be enslave - which is a good thing.

And maybe then, all good things will start to come for everyone of us in whatever that is we wish for....happiness...sense of security....acknowledgement...or maybe just satisfaction in equality.

God Do Exist

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects. When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:"I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?" asked the customer. "Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?

Would there be abandoned children?
If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.

I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things. The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.

The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:

"You know what? Barbers do not exist.
"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber. "I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"

"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."
"Exactly!" affirmed the customer.

"That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering that I have seen...

Screw you

"Claire, do you have any songs for me now? I feel terrible."

Mr N asked me for a song last night. The purpose was solely to make him feel at least a lil' bit better & of course for him to express his anger or sadness in a right way after a huge fight with his bitchy girlfriend. He was thinking of breaking up with her. [well..i hope all he did was listen..any girl would not want to be at the end receiver of this song..hehe]

So i decided to give him this song. Here's the lyrics...

Boomp3.com

Loose lips sunk ships
I'm getting to grips with what you said
No it's not in my head
I can´t awaken the dead, day after day
Why don't we talk about it?
Why do you always doubt that there can be a better way?
It doesn't make me wanna stay

Why don't we break up?
There's nothing left to say
I've got my eyes shut
Praying they won't stray
And we're not sexed up
That's what makes the difference today
I hope you blow away

You say we're fatally flawed
When I'm easily bored, is that ok?
Write me off your list
Make this the last kiss, I'll walk away
Why don't we talk about it?
I'm only here don't shout it
Given time we'll forget
Let's pretend we never met

Screw you, I didn't like your taste
Anyway, I chose you and that's all gone to waste
It's Saturday, I'll go out
And find another you

Well i agree it's a bit harsh so this song only apply to anyone feeling really hurt to the point of losing their mind. [hehe]

So...if you ever wish you have just the right word & the right song to tell someone how you feel..or just to feel the mood of it...don't hesitate to ask me & i'll try to help you find just the right tracks. [wink2]

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.

SON: 'Daddy, may I ask you a question?'
DAD: 'Yeah sure, what is it?' replied the man.
SON: 'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the man said angrily.
SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'If you must know, I make RM100 an hour.'
SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.
SON: 'Daddy, may I please borrow RM50?'

The father was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I work hard everyday for such this childish behavior.'

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.

The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money? After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think: Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that Rs.50 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.

'Are you asleep, son?' He asked.
'No daddy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.

'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the man.
'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the RM50 you asked for.'
The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you daddy!' He yelled.

Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills. The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.

'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father grumbled.
'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied.
'Daddy, I have RM100 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness.

It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts.

Do remember to share that RM100 worth of your time with someone you love.

If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than to our family.

p/s Just another story for our own reflection..to make sure we give enough time for the right things & the right person...We may think we still have a lifetime to do all the things step by step..or like most people would like to say..'just go with the flow'..but the reality is, we never know if tomorrow would come for us or not..so make the most of your time everyday...do whatever you need to do...say whatever it is you need to say...[makes me miss home so much more...sigh]

The Girl & Mr A

I had an interesting conversation with Mr A at this time of day yesterday. Well it's more like a chatting really. ;)

"If you put a high hope on a girl then suddenly u want to stop doing that because maybe after some time, you found someone else..what do you think the girl would think of me?"

I was silent for a while.

"And i haven't said the 3 magic words. Don't worry."

Ok...again i was contemplating on how best to answer his questions.

"Instead of answering you, may i ask why do you need to stop? Which one do you actually like more?" I asked him.

"Well...honestly, i don't know." He typed after a few seconds.
"I like this one girl...and in terms of beauty...she really got it all..but this other one, i've been dying to tell her since decades ago of how much i like her but i never got the courage to do so..and now that i may have the chance to tell her, i have to decide between her & this girl i told you earlier."

I could not think of a suitable reply at first.

"Well...if you really think of what you want and about how you feel...i think you will know what to do..i mean which one to choose."

That was the answer i gave him. I knew it's not much of an answer but choosing was never easy so i didn't want to help him making the wrong one.

"The thing now is i'm a bit concerned of what the girls may think of me.....i just don't want to be labeled a player because i do have quite a bit of collection but i never actually declare anything to anyone..I was just taking time to understand each of the girls so that i know who is the right one." He typed with a smiley following closed after.

"Don't bother on what people may say about you. Or in this case..the other not chosen girls. Because at the end of the day, you are the one who want to be happy & necessary reject is required." I told him with a wink.

And we chat about it for quite some time................................................................................................ (i'll spare you the details you may not want to know...hehe)

Then we come to another interesting point of our conversation. Mr A was telling me that the real problem was that he's very choosy. And below is the criteria he would like on a girl. I was quite excited to wait till he gave all the details...(we girls do like to know what type of person a guy would generally interested to kan..hehe)

So i copy here the requirement for a girl for Mr A;-
1. Beautiful
2. Able to cook
3. Able to converse in mother tongue language
4. Loves children
5. Can make it feel so nervous saying the words (i was smiling on this part..hehe)
6. got magnetic impulse
7. (secret) haha...

And we talk about it which i also don't want to put into details here..;)....bla bla bla

Then he asked again what do i think of a 'collector guy'.
And i said, "If i know that the guy is still looking for the right one for him..then i guess it's just okay..i would not hold any grudges against him. It's his right to do even if he may hurt my feelings along the way because i've seen it coming. So whatever anyone decide, i won't blame or think bad of them. There's always reason you know. Be it bad or good."

"And what i may feel in between the relationship? Or maybe here it's what the other girls of yours may feel? I think they may feel insecure knowing that you have a lot of choices to consider. Not to mention if you are not really into them and they knew it...it will hurt actually."

I continue my preaching. [haha]

"Then they may feel angry with me for giving them false hope." Typed Mr A.

"Depends, but most probably they will think and feel that way. But if it's me...i don't think i will..i'll try to think of being in your shoes & i may even do the same thing...bukan lelaki sja ba yg mo pilih-memilih ni. But i give up quite fast lah..tu sja keburukan dia.."

"So..how if i keep things as it is for the time being? I mean untill someone give up..then i don't really have to choose?" Mr A typed in quickly.

"Then there's a tendency you'll lose someone good." Was my only reply.

"Yeah..that's right." Mr A answered me.
