Once...

...when I was younger, I'm such a bookworm that I even read newspapers like an old man. Mostly I'll flips through all the pages first even when I saw some articles that I find interesting because I knew that once I started to read it, it will take me ages to finish since I have the habit of really reading from start to finish never missing one word and that's not going to help me get over the next page.

It has been a few days since I have been discharge from the hospital and I have been taking all those well wishes seriously. The resting part. Like really really resting. I woke up early now though for breakfast, because I need to time the medicine-eating right. Then after that I will either be dragging my body to bed and lie down or continue sleeping until lunch or I'll do some mild surfing on the internet and sometimes watch movies - everything done from the bed.

I tried cooking for dinner yesterday and half way through eating, I feel dizzy (pening-pening lalat). I knew then that I have been resting too much and my body is weak. So today I drag myself out of the house and go for my schedule hair treatment at the shop nearby. At least it's nothing heavy, just sitting and I bring a book to read. So while in the midst of it all, I saw a newspaper and decided to look through the articles.

Interestingly, The Star newspaper is currently putting spaces here and there where it will put all those old archive news or what used to be in the newspaper all those years before. Some kind of trudging down memory lane I guess. Imagine my delight when I saw a few of my old time favorite sections being published in a newspaper again.

The section that caught my attention the most was the Pen Pal section. I remember looking through that list when I was a young teenager and skimming through all the names, ages, location and the best one is the hobbies. I would usually pick someone who's really from far away or some boys name whom I thought might be cute judging from the name. Ha ha ha

I had fun looking at it again which from the looks of it were scanned and printed to that page and I really wanted to take pictures but then the phone's camera was being difficult so I end up with no pictures. Sad. :(

Then I came across the Comics. Oh I really love them back then. I remember having a scrap book and I would cut those that I like most and paste it on the book. I think I did that back when I did not really understand English that much. But then again, most of the comics were pictures and less words so I think I was giving it my own interpretation and picked those that I thought were funny. And the pictures were cute too. I wonder where's the book now. We move houses way too much when I was a kid I think there's not much left of any old remembrance at home now.

And of course one more section which hold dear to my heart was the Crossword. If I'm not mistaken, it was the Borneo Post Crossword that have this A to Z series of crossword that you have to finish to win the money. One alphabet will have a few crosswords to it I think. Like A1, A2...up until I can't remember actually. I tried a lot of times but then imagine how hard it is to get one crossword right. This one you need to get all 10 or 20 of them correct. Thinking back, I'm actually amaze with my passion and of course patient with that contest. It was a very nice memory indeed.

Only those of you who were a kid as exciting as I was during those time can relate to this. Or not. No matter. He he he

By the way I watch the movie Once yesterday and Wel said all my movies were ganjil-ganjil. I was like...wtf...ha ha ha..kidding! I have just finish watching Jane Eyre before finishing this post and I enjoyed it very much. Honestly, that one is not weird, yes? Oh well, like I care. LOL

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

Guess who get to play the most coveted role of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo alongside delicious man Daniel Craig?

Rooney who? Hehe...not Wayne Rooney. Relax.

Natalie Portman, Ellen Page and even Scarlett Johansson auditioned for the role but I guess they decided to go for a new face this time. The problem with new comer is that, they sometimes lack the experience to come out with a good acting skills and own the character. There are many example of this and I have already experience the Swedish version of the movie and was hugely disappointed. Maybe because the movie was in Swedish and I'm not familiar with the cast and the language so it could be the reason why I could not bring myself to even finish watching the movie.

So when I first heard that they are going to do the Hollywood version of the best selling trilogy by Stieg Larsson, I was very excited and been waiting anxiously for who will get Lisbeth Salander's role.

So now that I know, I'm not really sure I'm satisfied with the pick but I really hope she'll do a good job with it. Please please please lah bah. You already got Daniel Craig for Mikael Blomkvist's role so at least be at the same par of performance lah k Rooney.

My Blueberry Nights

And........I'm back. Good as new.

It's really is a good thing that I enjoy movies as much as I love books. I can always depend on them to have a laugh, to cry over a touchy moments, to relate on some of the incidents and to always help me to restart my thoughts all over again.

It's My Blueberry Nights for tonight and you can see my favorite singer Norah Jones in it. I never knew she could act. She's actually quite good and looked very pretty in the movie as she is in real life. Jude Law is in it too. As well as Natalie Portman and Rachel Weisz. There you have it.

It was pretty slow in the beginning and throughout the movie but it suits me just fine with the mood I was in earlier.

Here's some of my favorite quotes in the movie.

Down The Rabbit Hole

Alice In Wonderland directed by Tim Burton is showing in cinema this week. Been waiting ages for it. My favorite children's story other than Anne of Green Gables & Si Anak Gajah back when I was a kid.

When I first saw the promotional poster and trailer, I thought the girl was a bit old for playing Alice compare to how it was suppose to be in the book. So I went searching for the synopsis on Wikipedia and found out why. In this movie Anne is now 19 years old and accidentally returns to the place she visited 13 years ago.

I didn't really read through the end of the article. Don't want to lose the element of surprise. And trying to keep my expectation on average of course.

Zooey is the girl Allison, from the movie Yes Man. Very cute. And Gordon-Levitt? Double cute. He got this Heath Ledger-ish kind of face and yes, very talented.

I have already watched this like months ago on a downloaded version from the internet. And i think i am going to go watch it again because damn~ this movie is so cool (at least to me) and so fucked-up i was literally open-mouthed in astonishment last time.


I don't have to say much really. It's Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried. Of course i'll be there.


Apart from the book being an international bestseller so the story line is sure a good one, Eric Bana is in it and on something totally off the point, the heroine is named Clare. So i really should be there right? [you can puke now]

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Dammit. I'm so nervous and excited to wait to go watch Harry Potter: The Half Blood Prince tonight. 8.45pm, Gurney Plaza. I hope i can be there in time. Please please please whoever up there in turn for watching the road tonight, make it clear and the traffic light go all green whenever i pass.

I've already know the story by heart but the feeling of going to see the imagination turn to real picture is so exhilarating i'm a bit worried if it's going to set me in a high expectation which often makes me harder to please. But no matter...no matter... I'll take some of the Felix Felicis in hope of a good luck tonight. I think i brew it alright. Six month, yes?

Powder Blue

Everyone deserve a second chance. It may come to us in a different way, all is up to us whether to realize it and act on it or not. Sometimes our hardship & sorrow cloud what's been offered to us & we decided to give up. Don't.

I have always love talks, books, songs & movies about challenges in our life & inspirational stories. The things that can motivate us to keep going is actually just a little reminder every now & then.

Among all the movies that i have watch, one of my favorite motivational stories which i can vividly remember until now would be the 'Pay It Forward' which i watch about 3 years ago. Today at the office, i saw one movie in my colleague's folder in title 'Powder Blue' & out of curiosity of the unusual title, i downloaded it. Now i have just finish watching it and i must say, i can jot it down in my favorite lists.


As in one of the caption of that movie 'Every Life Has A Breaking Point'. I hope i find mine.

On a lighter note though, one cannot miss the scene everybody loves in any movie. The nude scene. ;) But it's not the less clothing that really gets me (although Jessica Biel is one very hot-sexy b**h :D) but really on Jessica's dancing at the stripper stage especially the pole dance. Owh i love the sliding-up-side-down pole dance. My mouth was wide open half through it. I never knew she could move like that. ;)


So...all in all, i say go watch this movie & have a good time.

Beautiful Girl

I was walking into the hallway door for usual scanning routine this morning & someone catch up behind me & sing 'beautiful girl'.....from the movie 200 Pounds Beauty, a Korean movie. It was a nice way to start the day & i'm smiling from ear to ear. Not to the fact that the guy sang the song to me indicating that i'm beautiful but because of the small thing as such which can make me in a very good mood so early in the morning. :)

Up to my office & to my desk, i was humming the song in small voice. ;)


By the way, this is a nice & good movie actually. I cried watching it. syyyy.... :D
The sexy Kim Ah Jung has actually went under the knife of plastic surgery just like her role in the movie. No wonder she's so natural & very good in acting it out because she's really been there. People were criticizing, saying bad things to her about the whole plastic surgery thing.

But i don't care. I still love her because she's so talented & she actually can act & sing very well.

The arrangement done for this song in the movie is really beautiful & the lyric is just meaningfully great. It would be wonderful to have reach this stage of life - there's no hurry anymore when all is said & done. :)

But i'm still young & i'll make sure to enjoy every minute of everyday that i have so that i can someday look at the path i've taken & indulge in the satisfaction of living a full life. We all have to remember that we're not 19, 25 or 40 forever. When you are 10 years old, do what 10 years old suppose to be doing. Run loose & don't be all grown up yet. The same when you're in the twenties [especially if you're still single..wink2] - use that hard earned money of yours & go sky diving. At least your body can still handle it & recover quickly than a 30 year old.

In a relationship, never be afraid of being vulnerable because if you're building walls around you to not getting hurt, you're also shielding yourself from being happy. Be in a state where you feel like there's nothing in life that you can't face anymore. And to do that is to open yourself to possibilities, risk & the unknown (i'm not a professional motivational speaker). ;)

As the famous quote says, "Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance."

The Love Guru

Here i am working on my supposedly one full week holiday...& it's Monday..so i get all the blues & the yellows..;p

i started sleepy...then by the time i finish my work, i'm totally sleep-ing..haha
but right now....i just finish watching The Love Guru (yeah. u're right. in the office) & i really find it hilarious...aahh...you should just watch it..;)

My fav part?....Guru Pitka & Rajneesh sings the 'More than words'...;p it's just funny...and also...Jessica Alba is not bad at all at dancing the Indian dance..well i know she's good & all at dancing but this is just different..so two thumbs up for her..;) ..plus it's very entertaining..(at least for me) ;)
